Honored at the Fair!

I'm so grateful to receive an "Honorable Mention" award and ribbon at the Coastal Carolina Fair this year!  This was my first year to enter the piece that I submitted was something the the Holy Spirit gave to me in a time of prayer several months ago.  What an awesome way to bring glory to the Kingdom of God!

New Studio Again!

Hi, all!  I've moved again, but this time it is much more permanent...lol  You may find me at North Palm Community Church off of Cross County Rd. in North Charleston.  My studio is above the dance studio in the North Palm School of the Arts building.  I'm currently teaching 3 art classes and I will post a schedule soon with all upcoming classes and events through the end of 2010 and into the new year.  Please feel free to stop by or call for directions.  I have a collection of handmade jewelry on display and or sell in the studio in addition to other artworks.  The holiday season is fast approaching and I do fill custom orders if you would like to have something made, drawn or painted for that special person in your life.

God bless and watch this blog for updates on the new class schedule!

Sunset Painting Finished!

I finished it!  This is my first sunset painting and I created it from a picture that I previously took and posted coming back from Folly Beach.  The picture was taken from Folly Road as it overlooked one of our marshes here in Charleston, SC.

I painted this with acrylics on canvas.  It was difficult to blend all the colors in the sunset and the
the reflections on the water because the paint dried so quickly.  I think next time I will try it with oils or add a medium to slow down the drying time.  But, overall, it was a lot of fun to do and I learned a great deal in the process.

Updates

Well, I'm regrouping and getting organized...again.  It never seems to end....I get everything how I want it, and then some unexpected business comes my way and in the frenzy of filling orders, my studio ends up a mess!  Again!

But, I'm getting reorganized again and will have some new works available soon.  I am currently working on several pieces...that you can look to see posted soon.  One is a beautiful sunset over the river that I took coming back from Folly Beach.  The painting is about halfway finished and will be going over my fireplace.  However, I will be offering Giclee prints and paper prints once it is completed.  I will also have another beautiful waterfall that is about 2/3 of the way complete.  Look also for a three panel abstract and an orchid on a Black background...this is a very elegant piece.

We have a lot to look forward to in future months as we continue to offer you artwork that is both aesthetically pleasing and spiritually edifying.  God Bless!

Calling Christian Artists

We are looking for Christian artists that want some exposure online and increase sells of their artwork.  We would like to add 3 more painters, any medium is fine, two more photographers and one or two sculptors or wood workers.  Our goal is to provide a safe place for Christian artists to place their artwork online without having to do all of the marketing on their own.  This is a particularly good offer for those artists out there who want to sell their work online but do not want to mess with maintaining a website or dealing with customer service issues.

We are still in the first phase of looking for artists who want to participate and getting everyone positioned to move forward into the marketplace. If you are interested in partnering with Visions of Fire Art, please email me at VisionsofFireArt@aol.com for more information and details.

We are looking to grow and continue to add artists to our network.  We want emerging artists and professionals already in the marketplace.  We also want to have a variety of mediums available for those who wish to purchase artwork from us.

We look forward to working with you!

Banquet a Huge Success!

Thank you to all who participated in the local Benefit Dinner and Auction to raise money for Haiti relief!  It was a wonderful evening of fellowship, music, and hearing the heart of Jean Rebecca as he shared what it has been like for him and his family that is still in Haiti.

Over $5000 was raised through the banquet and auction and 100% will go to Haiti to take food, water, necessities and medical assistance.  We are very grateful for the many people who came out and gave of their time, energy and money to assist with this cause.

Business Sponsors Needed!!!

We need businesses to sponsor tables of 8 people for our local Fundraiser Dinner Banquet and Auction for Haiti!  This is a great way to get some added exposure for your business and also help with the relief efforts in Haiti.  There are areas that still have not yet received any aid.

The cost to sponsor a table is $300 and you will receive recognition and advertisement for your business sponsorship during the dinner and auction as well as through this blog, facebook, twitter and my business web site.  Please go to the North Palm Ministries website at http://www.northpalm.org/ and make your sponsorship donation.  The food for the dinner was donated for this event so 100% of the proceeds will be going to Haiti.  Please help today!

Thank you for your support and help with this worthy cause.

Upcoming Auction for Haiti

My home church, North Palm Ministry Center, is organizing a city wide fundraiser dinner here in Charleston, SC on February 1, 2010 where all the money brought in from the dinner will be sent to help aid in the relief efforts in Haiti.  There are areas that are away from Port-Au-Prince that have yet to receive aid.  They are without food or water or a safe place to sleep at night.  We want to help them as much as we can.

During the dinner event we will also be having a silent auction with about 10 of my paintings.  I will be posting the paintings up on my website by Friday, January 22nd and anyone who wants to bid on them can before January 31st by sending me an email with your contact information, the painting you wish to bid on and the amount of your bid.

We here in the United States are so very blessed and compared to most of the world...even those who are struggling right now are wealthy.  I know that a lot of people have already given to help in Haiti, but if you are in the Charleston area, this dinner and auction will be an opportunity for you to impact an area of Haiti that is still without help and desperate for someone to come and bring them food and water.

We will be posting updates for this event periodically and provide more information about the cost of tickets, date and time...etc.  All proceeds from the dinner AND from the paintings sold will be sent to Haiti.

Thank you for your continued support and help!

Exodus 35:30-36:1

"Then Moses said to the Israelites, 'See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts - to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic craftsmanship.  And he has given both him and Oholiah son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others.  He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as craftsmen, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers - all of them master craftsmen and designers.  So Bezalel, Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the LORD has given skill and ability to know how to carry out all the work of constructing the santuary are to do the work just as the LORD has commanded."  - Exodus 35:30 - 36:1

God has gifted some with creative abilities that go beyond expected parameters.  And he has gifted us in many different areas of the arts or with many different mediums so that we can use those giftings to glorify Him.  He has a destiny for us and that destiny is to build the Kingdom of God and share the Love of Jesus Christ through the Arts and Media industries.  If you are one of those gifted souls, then please join us in this building process.  God is waiting for you....will you answer the Call that He's placing on your life?  Email me if you would like to be a part of this move of God in the Arts at VisionsofFireArt@aol.com.

God's Majestic Beauty

I took this the last week of December 2009 when we were
driving home from Folly Beach.

I took it with my Blackberry phone...this was one of those moments
when you wish you had a better camera.

I think I will paint this one...so, look for it soon.  I'll
post it when it's finished.
